The Latin American Art Museum of Amersfoort is strategically positioned to become the leader in Latin American Art in The Netherlands. The museum’s permanent collection includes the works of renowned Spanish and Latin American artists from the private collections of the Gausachs Foundation, the Bellapart Museum & the private collection of the Dali-Barcelona Museum.

With emphasis on creating a significant cultural exchange the museums temporary exhibitions will put on display works of outstanding Latin American artists as well as those artists internationally renown artist, regardless of their nationalities; such as Matt Lamb, Roel Hofman, Nikola Dimitrov amongst others.

The Museum exhibits modern and contemporary Latin American collections of other important museums, foundations and private collections from around the globe as we gain momentum and form our own permanent collection and patrimony of Latin American art.

Building on this momentum and commitment, by the year 2013 the LAKMA will become the home of The Netherlands center for the Arts of the Americas. The only one of its kind in the Netherlands and will serve as an important curatorial and educational resource center for professionals and students.

The LAKMA emphasizes the formation of a new collection and research culminating in major exhibitions, lectures, and symposia. The focus of the collection is modern and contemporary art in all media by artists from Spain, Mexico, Central & South America, the Caribbean and International artist with links to Latin American countries.

The museum will also serve as a fusion of cultural activities from Spanish & Latin American cultural centers across the Benelux such as The Cervantes institute, the Association of Hispanohablante and will make these resources available for students seeking professional experience in this field.

 

The LAKMA will present works produced by important Latin American artists based in the Netherlands such as Luis Acosta Argentinean artist, Maryolga Nieto Venezuelan Artist, Gorki Bollar Uruguayan Artist and many more.
